Margarita Mellberg was born in Pireus in 1951. She holds a PhD from the university of Lund. She worked as a university assistant to the chair of Modern Greek Studies in Stockholm and Uppsala universities. She has translated works by Strindberg, Ibsen, Dagerman, Söderberg and others. She has written articles about Swedish writers and poets. During the period 1995 – 2019 she worked as a Cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of Greece in Sweden.
